Meetings

Hey guys,
how r u all? hope ur all having a good time
i am trying to organise the first whole team meeting/ with some food too,i am really confuzed bout when everyone is free, Some people cant do mondays, some tues, etc

I thought fridays would be good so it doesn't interrupt hw and go late with school the next day.

I know some people have sport and other commitments of fridays (just like me)
but the meetings will only be once a month so if possible does everyone think they could get the evening off for one friday a month???

When it gets close to an event thats really importaint then we might add a couple of extra meetings, these won't necessarily be on a friday, if need be it could even be on a weekend.

Can everyone let me know how they feel about that!!??

I think we should have the meetings at someones house of at one of the schools, less distractions. food wise everyone could bring something to share or we could order pizza or something.

P.S MacRob girls remember meetings are EVERY tuesday lunch (L103, if someone else is in there go to the computer room opposite)
Jenny and I won't be there this week coz of a yr 12 excursion so could you e-mail us the minutes.
Jenny and Hilary i still need money from you guys for the first choc order, could you guys see me on tues to give it to me please.
Any new choc orders bring them to the meeting anyway i will get someone to collect them for me.

hey guys,
so this is basically what we discussed at the last meeting (3 May):

* t-shirts - definitely polos, keep them simple (i.e. no quote or saying), we each have our number (from when we "number off") and our name on the front (or back?) - similar to the MacRob French Exchange tops

*hug-o-gram - we've decided to ditch this idea, as it's not practical or profitable enough

*Silly Socks Day will be held at MacRob on the 26th of May - with gold coin charge for those wearing silly socks, and a competition for the silliest socks. If poss., this could be done at Korowa and Bayside too. This event needs to be promoted as much as possible!

*Meal Trip - 3 people cook certain types of food at each of their houses, and we do a rotating tour to all 3. This could also be done at school. Cover charge of $20 or so, esp. if we hire minibuses

*Trivia Night - needs to be kept simpler and cheaper, with a one-course meal and dessert, also no alcoholic beverages. Child-minding service is a winner. We all need to find donations for the auction and door-prizes.

*"Camping Athletics" - can be held at all schools - basically a race to run with packs on, unpack and put up tent, take down tent, repack, and run to finish line. Mostly just a promotional idea - to let people know what we're doing, sell raffle tickets etc.

*Cake stalls/bakeoff - always do well, at next meeting we'll discuss when to hold them

*Lolly Jar (Counting Comp.) - Aditi and Wei have volunteered to do this at MacRob, maybe K and B could have one too.

**We need to promote ourselves and our events as much as possible!**

i dont really no how this all works but yeh so i hope it gets through.
About the meetings i normaly have sport on fridays but i can take it off its no problem and fridays are fine with emma too. But i spoke to Erin last nite at polo and she said fridays are no good for her becasue she has work i dont no if shes told any of use yet tho. she suggested wednesdays which is fine with me and emma wat do use think. but i think the best idea is still fridays cos its easier at the end of the week. Also are the teachers invited cos i wasnt sure wat was going on with them but i asked Belinda and she said that they would liekt o be invited so that they can get to know everyone too. ok well im kinda like really confused at the moment so let me no wats going on with everything and hopefully we can get together soon and maybe we will have the itinery then.
oh yeh and thanks Rosa for the fundraising ideas we mite just give em a go.

yeah i recon the teachers can come too, they are part of the team and also i would be goot to find out from them what is possible and where they can help out.

Yeah, i think sticking to fridays is a good idea, and teachers should come, only questions left to ask:
Where should we have the meeting and when are we going to hold the first one?

I think the meeting should be focused on getting to know one another as well as actually discussing things. Perhaps it could be a big afternoon tea where everyone brings something? And we could do stuff that lets us get to know each other in other ways apart from discussions. Anyone have any ideas? My head can only bring things like board games and the like.

Oh and for the macrob girls i have emailed the mhs guys about the athletics and i emailed you guys a copy but i forgot to update my contacts first so some missed out. Perhaps if someone could post the stuff cause i don't have a copy. Thanx

what does everyone think about Friday The 20th
we still don't know where but we will confirm that,
Can everyone see if they can get that day free!
I know it might be hard for some of you but if you tell sport, or work etc.. in advance hopefully you can come. even if its just for a while at the start of end or something.

The time will also depend on the place, i was thinking 5 ish so people who have to travell have time to get wherever. then the meeting would be about 1-2 hrs or something,

Bring food too !!!

If we spoke to the schools and teachers we could have it at one of the schools in the hall or something, in macrobs case prehaps the theatre or function room. If it was at macrob, the macrob girls could hang around and chat bout stuff or go into the city for an hour or something. I'll discuss further with maccas girls on tuesday then call the other schools.

That meeting sounds good and i have also talked to inaya and i have arranged for the focus meeting for macrob girls on thursday fater school (12th) please mark it in ur dairies so u don't forget its from 3.30 till 5 and yeah she didn't say to but i think we should bring something to eat as it will be almost straight after school. She also said that we will be going over our ideas for the itinery as well.

i think it should be either at ur school or near u's cos thats a central location and so everyone wont have to travel so far. Just for the first one then we can decide where the rest r gunna be even if we rotate houses or something.
We shold jsut make it friday even if some ppl cant make it cos weve gotta get started on everything everyones busy some day so we'll jsut have to let them know what happened and then make sure they come to the next meeting or something. k and let me no wat u wanna do about food and stuff k if u's can talk about it in ur team meeting tomorrow or something and write down who brings wat or someting and then let me no if thats possible k thanks

was talking to erin tonight and shes working friday but wants to know if we could have it 6-8pm cos she finishs work at 6 and so she'd be able to make it then but yeh wat eva works for everyone else k cyas

6-8 sounds a bit late...

But if thats ok with everyone (in that case i don't know bout having it at rosas)
Otherwise we could make it 5-7 or something and if erin can make it for the last bit that would be cool.
I am going to talk to the school bout availability of the theatre or somthing at that time unless we have an offer from someone for their house, rosa's offer sounds great but if 8 is too late we will have to find somewhere else, preferably near a station for easy access.

Also could everyone, and i mean everyone please start checking this board more often coz it is importaint to get info to and from everyone, ie things like this meeting, there are still loads of people i havent heared from so i have no idea if they can come(i even sent it as an e-mail),
if you know someone isn't checking the board and you are can you tell them to.
